ANTWON WILLIAM-HILL ROBERSON

William-Hill Roberson was born on March 20, 1988, in George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC to Deborah Shaw and the late Antwan Roberson. Antwon attended Merritt Extended Elementary School and graduated with the Class of 2007 from Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland. After high school, Antwon attended Prince George’s County Community College for a short period of time and worked a series of jobs at places such as Shoe City, My Playce Family Fun Room, and the American Diabetes Association. While at the American Diabetes Association, Antwon learned about career opportunities with D.C. Department of Corrections. Soon Antwon completed the academy and became Corporal Antwon William-Hill Roberson. He served with distinction at the D.C. Department of Corrections for over ten years. Antwon was nurtured in Campbell African Methodist Episcopal Church where Reverend Roger Hall Reed baptized him as a child. Antwon was active in church school, the Young People’s Department, Boy Scout Troop 1869, fishing club, junior usher board, and the church’s youth choir. Most recently, Antwon became a member of the church’s media ministry. Antwon was passionate about all sports particularly football and wrestling, but had a special love for his home teams! It didn’t matter if it was the Maryland Terrapins, Washington Commanders, the Washington Nationals, the Washington Capitals, or the Washington Wizards, Antwon supported his hometown teams! When he became a first time uncle last year, he bought his new nephew outfits to highlight most of the local teams. He considered it his responsibility to keep his nephew dressed in the right team colors! On any given day he could be found at the Capital One Arena, Commanders Field, Commanders Training Camp or Nationals Park rooting for all things DC. As the son of a musician, Antwon’s appreciation for music spanned multiple eras and genres. Among his favorites were Michael Jackson, George Duke, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kirk Franklin, JayZ, Tupac and Kendrick Lamar. Antwon had a great appreciation for history, particularly African American History and would often spend hours researching lesser known historical information or watching documentaries. Following in the footsteps of his Dad, He also took his civic duties seriously. The first presidential election in which he casted a vote was that of President Barack Obama. Even while sick, he never missed an election be it to elect local or national leadership and he encouraged his friends and young family members to register to vote and to VOTE too! He would have definitely been in line to vote for Kamala Harris of Howard University as the next president of the United States of America. Antwon was an encourager among friends and family and was known for his positive energy and humor. He had a smile that would light up a room and greeted everyone with a hug. Antwon leaves a legacy of love and laughter that will be sorely missed. Antwon was rooted in Christianity and was a man of faith. Antwon’s favorite gospel song was God of a Second Chance. After an extended illness, Antwon was relieved of his pain and transitioned from his earthly life on July 5, 2024, peacefully at home. Antwon was preceded in death by his father, Antwon Roberson. He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother, Deborah Shaw; Sisters Nichole Roberson and Ashley Roberson; Grandmother, Steward Emeritus Alice Shaw; one Uncle, Garry Shaw, Aunts Ponchitta and Peggy Roberson, one Nephew Kole Curtis, Cousins Andre Todd, Kaylin Thompson, Coffie Davis, David and Noah Roberson, Kevin Davis, Kyrah and Kendrick Wilson, Kelvin Felder and Leacie Dudley, Brothers in Love, Mark Roberts and Juan Curtis II and a host of other relatives, non-biological aunties/uncles and close friends.
