Daniel Dickerson

Daniel Deavon Dickerson, affectionately known as “D-Love” by his friends and family, was born on January 4, 1980, in Washington, D.C., to Victoria Fenwick and Craig Dickerson. A proud native of the District, Daniel graduated from Ballou Senior High School, Class of 1998. Deeply committed to his community and the environment, Daniel was an active volunteer with the Earth Conservation Corps in Washington, D.C. One of his proudest achievements during that time was meeting President Bill Clinton and receiving a recognition award for his outstanding service. Daniel began his professional journey with American Plant Company in Bethesda, Maryland, where he rose from the warehouse team to become Warehouse Manager. He later served as a federal contractor with Pitney Bowes, delivering mail to the U.S. Congress, and went on to hold roles with Amazon and Metro Transit. In 2005, Daniel embraced one of life’s greatest joys when he became a father to Khyree Dickerson, followed by the birth of his second son, Sa’kai Dickerson, in 2010—two of the happiest and most meaningful moments of his life. He was a devoted, supportive, and loving father who took immense pride in his children. In 2014, Daniel married the love of his life and mother of his children, Kyshina Dickerson. Their bond was one of deep love and partnership. Known for his warm heart, infectious smile, and zest for life, Daniel found joy in life’s simple pleasures: watching basketball and football, listening to music, fishing, landscaping, and spending time with those he loved most. Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Fenwick. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. He is deeply missed by his mother, Victoria Fenwick; father, Craig Dickerson; beloved sons, Khyree and Sa’kai Dickerson; his devoted wife, Kyshina Dickerson; siblings Victor, Sharmine, Markcus, and Maria Fenwick; and his lifelong friends Donald Tillman, Everette Mcilwain, and Februierre Tolbert. He’s also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Daniel’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
