Obituary “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.” On Monday, June 21, 2021, at 4:00am, the Lord whispered these words: Frances, your laboring on earth is finished. I have prepared a resting place for you. Frances Mae Strong was born on Thursday, November 5, 1942 in Sunflower, Mississippi to the late Jack and Ruth Walls. Frances was the oldest of twelve children. Frances was preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Ruth and Everlina, her brothers, Earnest and Perry and son George Jr. Frances was educated in the Sunflower County School System. Frances married George Strong on April 22, 1960 at the tender age of 18. They moved to Dayton Ohio then Washington, DC, where they lived until her death. Frances was self-employed then became a homemaker for her seven children. In the early 1980’s Frances started caring for the neighborhood children and continued being a caregiver until her health started declining in 2020. Frances gave her life to Christ in 1975 and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church along with her children and was a member until her death. Frances was loved by so many family and friends. She cultivated more lives than we can count. What a profound impact she has made to families and the community far and near. So many has benefited from her nurturing and strong hugs. Frances leaves to cherish her memory her husband, George Strong; her six children, Diana, Rosie (Kenneth), Harry, Sharon, Tania and Eric; seven siblings, William, Harry, Walter, Edward, Rose (Albert), Betty, and Denise (Alvin); eight grandchildren, Asha, Christopher, Mariah, Yazmine, Kenneth Jr., TaNia, Nicole, and Sklyar; and five great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Jayden, Jaleel, K’Lynn, and Londyn; a host of loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special friends Marilyn Muir, Anne Boone and her Buchanan Street and Mt. Zion Baptist Church families.
