Jacqueline Arzella Tucker born June 6, 1959, in Washington, DC. She is 1 of 7 children boirn to the late Johnny L. Tucker, Sr. and Dosie D. Tucker. Jackie graduated from Chamberlin Vocational High School and focused on Cosmetology. She later attended the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. While at UDC she worked at Matthews Memorial Baptist Church part time as a bus aide and later full time as a preschool teacher. She worked hard to strive towards her goals and was able to accomplish them with her strong work ethic and tenacity. During her spare time Jackie loved music, sports, and fashion. Jackie loved to go to concerts, skating rinks, and clubs with her sister's Nella Peterson, Vanessa Tucker and Labelle Tucker. Jackie loved music such as Oldie's, R & B, and gospel and her favorite music group were the Dells. She loved to watch her Burgundy and Gold take the field every Sunday (Washington Redskins). Whether she was hanging out or going to work, Jackie was known for dresing like she had a government job; very classy and made sure her finger and toe nails were painted red, Jackie's nieces and nephews all described her as being cheerful, outgoing, funny and very blunt which lead to them giving her the beloved family name Aunt JJ. When Jackie found out that she was pregnant in 1993 with her only son Phil Tucker, she was nervous, but soon transformed into a strong confident mother. She made sure that "he didn't want for anything" by ensuring that he had memorable birthday parties with Batman and clowns and an entire sofa full of Christmas gifts. As a single mother, Jackie made sure that Phil stayed focused and on the right track. In doing so she became a Penn State University Mom when he graduated in 2016. It is safe to say that she fulfilled her purpose in life by telling her son "that you have given me everything I've ever wanted, except my grandchild wink". Jacqueline A. Tucker is survived by her son Phil, her Best friends Ms. Tammy Lucas and Ms. Valerie Bonds. Two sisters Nella Peterson and Vanessa Tucker. Three brothers Lonnie Tucker, Johnny Tucker, Jr., and Bruce Tucker. Three godchildren Ramone (RayRay), Brittney and Steven. Along with a grand list of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She will truly be missed.
