Johnnie Mae Kelley-Jones was born January 6, 1957 in Kingstree, SC and relocated to Washington, DC with her parents at a very young age. She is the 1st child of the late Geneva Rious and Issiah Rious. She attended DC Public Schools and graduated from Martha Washington Vocational School where she received her high school diploma. After high school she became a Federal Government Employee and worked for U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Administration Division and Finance Branch for 35 years before retirement. Johnnie Mae was full of life and positive energy, you could always find her encouraging someone and sometimes even slipping money is someone hand. She loved hand dancing, traveling, playing spades, cooking, shopping with her sister Diane at (JC Penny, Macys & Walmart) every Saturday, eating at her favorite place Golder Corral and hosting family events at her house. Most of all Johnnie Mae loved God and was a praiser with a smooth shout. She attended the Evangelistic Deliverance COG under the leadership of her mother Overseer Geneva Rious. Under her mother’s leadership, Johnnie Mae severed as the President of the Usher Board for many years. Johnnie Mae became the First lady of Two or More COG when she married her husband Pastor Alex Jones in September 2001. She loved her husband supported and pushed his vision. Johnnie Mae and Alex were a one of a kind couple, they honored and cherished the vows made to each other. Johnnie Mae’s world, pride and joy were her two kids Wesley Jr and Derrick. Followed by her grandkids Jonnay, Little Wesley 3rd, DJ (Derrick Jr), Boogie (Lawrence), and Jayden. She loved spending time with her son’s and grandkids, she would often take them on trips and love going to watch them play sports. She was there biggest fans and cheer leader, you could find her at the game cheering them on and smiling. Johnnie Mae had one brother, Clyde “Pokey” Fluitt, who preceded her in death. She had two sisters, Lucy Mitchell, and Apostle Michelle Williams who preceded her in death. She had five aunts that preceded her in death - Hattie Burgess, Alma Fluitt, Lottie Rious, Bealuh Rious and Janie Mae Rious-Robinson. She had five uncles that preceded her in death - Willie Fluitt, Daniel Fluitt, Elijah Fluitt, Irvin Rious and James Lee Rious. She leaves to cherish her memory forever her husband Pastor Alex Jones; two son’s Wesley Jr and Derrick; her daughter in-law Diamond Kelley; five grandkids Jonnay, Little Wesley 3rd, DJ (Derrick Jr), Boogie (Lawrence),and Jayden; One sisters, Diane Smith; Six brothers, James Rious, Issiah Rious, Jr., Tonnie (Adelaide) Patterson, Rossie (LaTrilla) Izzard, Jamal Izzard, and Harold McDonald ; six sister-in-laws, Brenda Fluitt, Dorrian Patterson, Vern Rious, Margaret Howe, Linda Johnson, Thea Payton; fourteen nieces and nephews, James (Aisha) Rious, Jr., James Leon (Aleah) Rious, Anthony Rious, Antoine Fletcher, Romaine Lowe, Melissa Chatman, Clyde Fluitt, Jr., Maurice (Kelechi) Fluitt, Rufus McCoy, Tonnie (Kristen) Patterson, Donnell (Nikki) Carroll, Dwayne Patterson, Tarveon and TiKayla Izzard; one Godsister, Six aunts, Ozena Fluitt, Maebelle Hammond, Ernestine Robinson, Wilhamina (LeeErnest) Pompey , Dorothy (Stewart) Blagman, Mary Fluitt; one uncle, Frank Fluitt; her mother-inlaw Christine Dodd, and host of cousins, friends and other family members.
