Robert Wayne Lorick

May 18, 1959 - January 24, 2021

Robert Wayne Lorick (fondly known as “Fatso”) was born in Washington, DC on May 18, 1959 to the late Annie Mae Lorick and James Robert Lorick. He attended DC public schools. He played basketball in high school. Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. One of his first jobs as a child was selling newspapers and Christmas cards. He also worked for his parent’s liquor store in NW DC. He worked for Miller Long Construction Company for several years, Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of Public Works where he was a machine operator and truck driver for twenty-seven years. He was a master gardener, certified botanist and loved landscaping. Robert was a gentle giant, a prankster, loved Tupac and Dr. Dre, the old hip hop music, liked black movies, he loved to quote lines from old movies - a part of his dry humor. He was a home body, loved spending time with his family and loved giving to the homeless. He was a football guru – a diehard Redskins fan, loved video games – a kid at heart. Robert loved to eat good food, was a connoisseur of fine food. He lived his best life. He was a great father, husband, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by three brothers: Michael Lorick, James Myron, Dennis Lorick; he leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Delores and two daughters: Markinda Faison and Tamika Robby Lorick; four sisters: Cheryl Gilmore, Tammy Bandy, Kimberly Lorick and Deborah McWhite; one brother Donald Lorick; one granddaughter Remaiyah Corbin; two sisters-inlaw Lavern and Loretta Turner and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
